The flying bank
Swissair flew from 1931 with a reputation for precision so solid it was called the flying bank, put the white cross on a red tail over DC-9s, DC-10s and MD-11s out of Zurich, and set the standard for service in Europe. Its fleet was grounded on 2 October 2001 and the last flight landed on 31 March 2002. Our Swissair designs draw on the Zurich years — the marks crews wore from the Caravelle to the MD-11.
