Southern Airways

The Deep South's local airline. From 1949 to 1979, Southern flew Martins, Convairs and DC-9s out of Atlanta into fields the majors never bothered with, until it merged into Republic.

THE STORY

The Deep South's local airline

Southern flew the small cities of the Deep South out of Atlanta — Martins, then Convairs, then DC-9s into fields the majors never bothered with. On 1 July 1979 it merged with North Central to form Republic. Our Southern designs draw on the DC-9 years — the marks crews wore across the South.

Every garment is printed when you order it, in the USA, with the disclaimer on the label: an independent tribute, for the people who remember.

Flew for Southern? Worked Atlanta? Remember the small-town stops?

Tell us what we should print next — a route, a fleet, a slogan you still hear.
