Indianapolis to anywhere
American Trans Air started in 1973 flying club charters out of Indianapolis, grew into the biggest charter airline in the country and the military's favourite lift, then went scheduled with L-1011s and 757s from Midway and Honolulu. It stopped flying on 3 April 2008. Our ATA designs draw on the charter and Midway years — the marks crews wore from the TriStar to the last 737.
